The NW Rock Academy was featured in today’s edition (Sunday, August 21, 2016) of The Columbian in an article about the Invitational Youth Jam at Billy Blues Bar and Grill in Hazel Dell. We have been privileged to participate in the youth jam for over a year, and were excited to be a part of that evening’s events. The students did great, and the Rock Academy is proud of their performance. The article highlights the guitar work of student Kristian Pedersen and mentions Zoe King as the only female member of the group. The Rock Academy would also like to note the following about the students performing that evening:
Jackson Golik – awesome hard core rock vocals and solid bass playing
Brayden Sofianos – solid grooves and drive from the drums
Aaron Tuchardt – great guitar work, and patient instruction of the students in his role as summer intern
Zoe King – not only the only female of the current group, but a new Academy student with only six weeks of rehearsals keeping up with students who have been involved with the Academy for three to five years
This was a great group of students, and the Academy is thankful that Scott Hewitt and the The Columbian shared their efforts, alongside those of Kerry Movassagh, Federico Pol, Billy Blues Bar and Grill, and Music World with the rest of their readership.
